Hearing, the sense of hearing; hearing or taking evidence (in a law-suit, &c.), cognizance:—samāʻat karnā (-kī), To hear, to take evidence (in a suit), to try (a case), to entertain or take cognizance (of a complaint):—samāʻat-ke qābil, adj. Worthy or deserving of a hearing, admissible, cognizable (a suit).
