P شپ shap (akin to S. क्षिपा and क्षिप्रं, rt. क्षिप् 'to throw,' &c.), s.f. Sound or noise (of a whip, or spears, &c.), whiz; sound of splashing:—shap-shap or shap-ā-shap, adv.
