Identity: Prolific writer, litterateur, and poet
Saifi Sironji (real name: Ramzani Saifi) was born in 1952 in Mahua Khera village, Sironj tehsil, Vidisha district, Madhya Pradesh.
Saifi Sironji spent his childhood in an environment where education was not a common practice. According to his own account, he never stepped foot in a school nor received any formal education. Due to family circumstances and financial needs, he began working in a Bidi (hand-rolled cigarette) factory. This very factory became the foundation of his literary journey, where poetic symposiums and the literary atmosphere awakened his latent talents.
Without any formal schooling, he continued the process of self-learning to the point where his poems, Naats, and Ghazals began appearing in newspapers and journals. Later, on the advice of well-wishers, he completed the 'Adeeb', 'Mahir', and 'Kamil' courses and earned an M.A. degree, eventually securing an appointment as a teacher in a government school.
Saifi Sironji is a prolific writer. He has composed approximately 1,500 Ghazals, hundreds of articles, and numerous short stories. To date, 8 collections of his poetry, 8 books of critical essays, and a total of about 75 books have been published. His prominent works include "Yeh To Sacha Qissa Hai" (Autobiography), "Sironj Se London Tak", "Mashahir Ke Khatoot", "Naye Imkanat", "Jadeed Shayari Ka Bhoot", and "Ekisween Sadi Aur Urdu Novel".
His autobiography, "Yeh To Sacha Qissa Hai," gained exceptional popularity, with writers from India, Pakistan, the USA, and Canada expressing their views on it; these essays were also published as a dedicated collection.
Saifi Sironji is also an active literary activist. Through the journal "Intisab-e-Alami," he has published special editions on various writers, including prominent names such as Bashir Badr, Khalid Mahmood, Nida Fazli, Gopi Chand Narang, Anjum Usmani, and Chander Bhan Khayal. For the past several years, he has been consistently writing editorials on literary figures in this journal.
