जब इंतिज़ार के लम्हे पिघलने लगते हैं
जब इंतिज़ार के लम्हे पिघलने लगते हैं
गली के लोग मिरे दिल पे चलने लगते हैं
मैं इस लिए भी परिंदों से दूर भागता हूँ
कि उनमें रह के मिरे पर निकलने लगते हैं
कभी-कभी किसी बच्चे की रूह आती है
कभी-कभी मिरे घर गेंद उछलने लगते हैं
'अजीब पेड़ हैं इन को हया नहीं आती
हमारे सामने कपड़े बदलने लगते हैं
वो हाथ हाथ में आने की देर होती है
सितारे और किसी रुख़ पे चलने लगते हैं
जब आसमान पे 'ताबिश' धनक उभरती है
हम अपने साथ छतों पर टहलने लगते हैं
