Saddam Hussain, who writes under the pen name Muzmar, was born in 1993 in Sarchandi, a village located in Tehsil Roorkee, District Haridwar. He began his early education at Madrasa Misbah-ul-Uloom in his native village. He later continued his studies at Jamia Islamia, Redi Tajpura, District Saharanpur, where he completed both religious and secular education up to the seventh grade. Between 2012 and 2014, he completed his High School and Intermediate education through the National Institute of Open Schooling.
Pursuing higher education, he moved to Aligarh Muslim University, where he earned a B.A. (Hons.) in Urdu in 2016, followed by a Master’s degree in Urdu literature in 2019. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Urdu at the same university.
Muzmir’s interest in poetry took shape during the first year of his Master's program, and by 2020, he had formally begun composing verse. His debut poetry collection, "Qayamat Ke Bawajood" was published in August 2024. Primarily a poet of the ghazal, Muzmar’s poetry is marked by intellectual depth and a delicate reflection of emotional experience.
