Syed Naved Haider Jafferi was born on 10 July 1967 in Karachi, Pakistan. He is an electrical engineer by profession, but he has a deep interest in the Urdu language and literature. He is active in both prose and poetry and has a particular interest in ghazal writing.

His ghazals have been published in various literary journals, and he has also shared his poetry with readers through social media. His first book, Soorat-e-Haal, a collection of essays, was published in 2011. His poetry collection Wajh-e-Malaal has also been published. He has also contributed articles to Urdu newspapers.

Syed Naved Haider Jafferi has a particular interest in marsiya recitation (Taht-ul-Lafz). He has recited marsiyas at various social and literary gatherings as well as on television channels.
