Naved Haider Jaffery was born on 10 July 1967 in Karachi, Pakistan. Professionally, he is an electrical engineer, but he has a deep passion for the Urdu language and literature. He is actively engaged in both prose and poetry, with a particular inclination towards writing ghazals.

His ghazals have been published in various literary magazines, and he also shares his work with readers through social media. His first book, Soorat-e-Ahwal (a collection of essays), was published in 2011. In addition, he has contributed articles to Urdu newspapers.

Naved Haider Jaffery also has a strong interest in the recitation of marsiya (taht-ul-lafz style). He has performed marsiya recitations on television channels as well as in social and literary gatherings. He plans to publish his first collection of Urdu poetry in the near future.
