A غافل g̠āfil (act. part. of غفل 'to be unmindful or forgetful,' &c.; see g̠aflat), adj. and adv. Unmindful, forgetful, neglectful, negligent, heedless, inadvertent, inattentive, remiss, thoughtless, careless; indolent; imprudent; senseless, unconscious;—negligently, thoughtlessly, inadvertently, unconsciously, &c.; soundly (said of sleep):—g̠āfil rahnā (-se), To be inattentive (to), to be negligent, or careless, &c. (in respect of):—g̠āfil honā or ho-jānā (-se), To become forgetful, or thoughtless (of); to be or become negligent, &c. (=g̠āfil rahnā).
