Profile of Maulwi Syed Mohammad Abu Hashim
After militancy erupted in the Kashmir Valley in 1990, Ved Lal Kaul ‘Raaj’ and his family were unable to return to their native place, Kalusa in Bandipora. The poet passed away in February 9, 2010 in Jammu, harbouring an unfulfilled wish to revisit his homeland. He was born on January 7, 1912. He is survived by three sons, Roop Krishan Kaul, Shanti Swrup Kaul and Ashok Kumar Kaul and a daughter Girija Kaul Pandita.
