huzūr-e-yār bhī aañsū nikal hī aate haiñ

kuchh iḳhtilāf ke pahlū nikal hī aate haiñ

huzur-e-yar bhi aansu nikal hi aate hain

kuchh iKHtilaf ke pahlu nikal hi aate hain

jis tarah ham ne rāteñ kaaTī haiñ

us tarah ham ne din guzāre haiñ

jis tarah hum ne raaten kaTi hain

us tarah hum ne din guzare hain

rabt hai husn o ishq meñ bāham

ek dariyā ke do kināre haiñ

rabt hai husn o ishq mein baham

ek dariya ke do kinare hain

vo mile to be-takalluf na mile to be-irāda

na tarīq-e-āshnā.ī na rusūm-e-jām-o-bādā

TRANSLATION

When she met, she was informal, when not, it was unintentional,

Neither she knows the way to love, nor the custom of wine and bottle.
