Profile of Mohammad Yusuf Islahi
Real Name : Mohammad Yusuf

Died : 21 Dec 2021 | Rampur, Uttar pradesh
Identity: Renowned Islamic scholar, exegete, author, member of the central Shura of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, and founder-custodian of Jamia Salihat Rampur.
Maulana Muhammad Yusuf Islahi was born on 9 July 1932 in Parmali, Attock District (Punjab, Pakistan). In 1936, he moved to Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh, India) with his father, Sheikh al-Hadith Maulana Abdul Qadeem.
He received his early education in Bareilly and completed high school from Islamia Inter College. He then studied at Mazahir Uloom Saharanpur and later spent four years at Madrasa Islah Sarai Mir under the guidance of Maulana Akhtar Ahsan Islahi.
In 1951, he read Tanqihat by Abul A'la Maududi, which deeply influenced his thinking. In 1954, he became a member of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and remained an active leader and central Shura member throughout his life.
He settled in Rampur (Uttar Pradesh). After Maulana Abu Salim Abdul Hai, he took charge of Jamia Salihat Rampur and developed it into a model institution across India. In 1972, he launched the monthly magazine Zikra, later continued as Zikra Jadeed.
His notable works include: Adab-e-Zindagi, Qurani Taleemat, Tafheem al-Hadith, Dai-e-Azam, Asaan Fiqh, Husn-e-Muashrat, Islami Tauheed, Shoor-e-Hayat Etc.
His book Adab-e-Zindagi has remained a guiding text in Muslim households for over half a century.
His writing style was simple, engaging, and deeply impactful.
Death: He passed away on 21 December 2021.
