Profile of Sajjad Haider Yaldram
An important name among Prem Chand's contemporaries is Sajjad Haider Yildirim. He was born in 1880 in the Nahtwar District, Bijnor. He came to Aligarh for higher education and became interested in Turkish language and literature. After graduating, he was appointed as a spokesman for the Turkish Embassy in Iraq. After various jobs, he became the Registrar of Aligarh Muslim University. He finally settled in Lucknow. He died here in 1943.
His effort to increase the repertoire of Urdu literature through translation is commendable. He gave a garment of Urdu to the development legends. In this regard, he also studied the development of society in depth and presented it in such a way that we see it as a form of our own society. These translations are in such a smooth and eloquent language that they are not thought of as translations but are known as natural fiction.
In Russia, a short distance from Turkey, fiction was being created that revealed the realities of life, but progress was dominated by romance. The study and translation of these short-stories led to the conclusion that those written by Yildirim himself contained nothing but romance. Their focus is so much on the finesse and decoration of the language that it is often offensive. "Khayalistan", a collection of his fictions, includes translations of Russian and English fictions as well as Yildirim's own writings.Source : Tareekh-e-Adab-e-UrduTagged Under
