Profile of Sirajuddin Nadvi

Introduction: Maulana Sirajuddin Nadwi is a distinguished Islamic scholar, teacher, writer, and social reformer who has been associated with Jamat-e-Islami-e-Hind.

He was born in 1952 in the village of Sarkara, District Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh). He received his early education at the local government school and later studied at Madarsa Ihya-ul-Uloom, where he benefited from Maulana Hakim Ashraf Ali Qasimi. In 1967, he joined Darul Uloom Nadwat-ul-Ulama, Lucknow, and obtained his Alimiyat degree in 1972. He later earned certificates of Adeeb, Adeeb Mahir, and Adeeb Kamil from Jamia Urdu Aligarh and completed his M.A. in Urdu in 1986. In 2022, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Commonwealth Vocational University, Bangkok.

He began his professional career in Ahmedabad at the office of Jamaat-e-Islami. Later, he served in various academic and administrative roles in Saharanpur, Rampur, and Bijnor. One of his major achievements is developing Taj-ul-Uloom, Tajpur, into Jamiyat-ul-Faisal. Today, he is the founder and patron of several educational institutions.

During his academic journey, he benefited from many eminent scholars, especially Sayed Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, whose guidance greatly influenced his intellectual and literary growth.

His writings focus on religious education, social reform, and intellectual guidance. His notable books include Bachon Ki Tarbiyat, Ibadat (Fazail-o-Masail), Kirdar Ke Ghazi, Mere Murabbi Mere Mohsin, Mohabbatein Ulfatein, Musalman Aur Science, Rasool-e-Khuda Ka Tareeqa-e-Tarbiyat, Tohfat-un-Nahv, and Tohfat-us-Sarf.

His style is simple, impactful, and purposeful. Knowledge, practice, teaching, and service to Islam remain the core of his life, and his contributions continue to inspire the younger generation.
